Activities along Queensland Coast for Boaties
15 August – 30 September Quandamooka Festival, North Stradbroke Is.
Program with up to 55 events including whale watching cultural tours, Kunjiels (corroborees), music, art exhibitions, workshops, bush tucker dining, arts and cultural talks by specialists and new events featuring international acts and First Nations dancers and performances.
22 August – 31 October Annual Fraser Island Taylor Season Weigh-In
A Charity Fundraising Event, raising funds for the Queensland RACQ Lifeflight Rescue Service. This event is for enthusiastic fishermen of all sizes and capabilities.
9 – 30 September Brisbane Festival
Each September, Brisbane Festival explodes across the city with a program of theatre, music, dance, circus, opera and major public events such as Sunsuper Riverfire.
10 September Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast
A world-class course taking in highlights of the region from country to coast; starting with a swim off the surf beach followed by a fast bike course and a two lap run course along the Mooloolaba Esplanade cheered on by spectators.
21 – 30 September Griffith Opera on the Beach – Aida, Gold Coast
Verdi’s famous opera in a new production featuring fireworks of the vocal and exploding kind, colourful costumes and local surf life savers parading past you on the sand of one of the most iconic beaches in Australia.
6 – 15 October The Crush Festival, Bundaberg
The Crush Festival lights imaginations with live performances, exhibitions and events that celebrate the stories of the Bundaberg region through the arts.
20 – 22 October Gold Coast 600
Get your heart racing with a huge line-up of racing and entertainment at the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 with three days of competition on the streets of Surfers Paradise.
29 October – 2 November Amateur Gold Championships, Hamilton Is.
A 36-hole amateur stableford event played at the Hamilton Island Golf Club during the PGA Professionals Championships.
23 November Ashes Tour Australia v England, Brisbane
1st test match of the Magellan Ashes 2017-2018 tour.
